Smart Omega (OMG) showcased their adaptability and discipline in a dominant 2-0 sweep over Twisted Minds (TWIS) in the MPL PH Season 15. Despite TWIS attempting unconventional picks, multiple misplays prevented the team from clutching a win against OMG.
Game 1
Twisted Minds surprised the audience with an unorthodox mid-lane Chou pick for Salic “Hadjizy” Imam, hoping to capitalize on mobility and playmaking potential. However, OMG had the perfect answer, with Czedrick “Super Yoshi” Romero locking in Ruby to neutralize TWIS’s mobility. This strategic counter severely limited TWIS’s engagements, allowing OMG to control the game and secure a comfortable victory to start the series.
Game 2
TWIS opted for a high-sustain composition, utilizing an Alice jungle and Angela roam tandem. This strategy initially caused problems for OMG, as they struggled to secure kills and win team fights. However, a critical mistake turned the tide—TWIS attempted to pick off Super Yoshi’s Badang, only for Michael “MP the King” Endino to overcommit in the process. Caught in an ambush, TWIS lost their frontline presence, causing their formation to collapse in the following team fight. Seizing the opportunity, OMG capitalized on TWIS’s blunder and secured the win, closing the series with a clean 2-0 sweep.
