The first match of Week 2 in MPL PH Season 16 featured a heated showdown between AP Bren (APBR) and ONIC PH (ONIC). Despite AP Bren’s resilience, ONIC PH’s relentless playstyle secured them a clean 2-0 sweep.
Game 1:
ONIC PH wasted no time asserting dominance in the opening game. With constant aggression across the map, they snowballed early and tallied 13 kills by the 10-minute mark. AP Bren fought hard to delay the game, but without control over key objectives, their defense only postponed the inevitable. With a massive gold lead, ONIC PH secured the Lord and used it to push through the mid-lane, sealing Game 1.
Game 2:
AP Bren showed better composure in Game 2, matching ONIC’s tempo in the early stages. However, ONIC adapted by playing the long game, patiently waiting for their win conditions. Once they gained control, ONIC steadily pulled ahead, capitalizing on key team fights to close out the match. The victory gave ONIC PH the series sweep, proving once again why they are a powerhouse in the league.
