Week 2 Day 1 of the MPL PH Season 16 continued with fireworks as Team Liquid PH (TLPH) faced off against Aurora Gaming (RORA) in a high-stakes best-of-three series. Both teams came into the match eager to make a statement, and the series turned into one of the most thrilling clashes of the week. With explosive team fights, bold objective plays, and clutch performances from key players, the match went the full distance. In the end, Team Liquid PH managed to outlast Aurora Gaming, sealing a hard-fought 2-1 victory.
Game 1
In the first round of the series, Aurora Gaming start off strong with early aggression, securing key pick-offs that gave them a gold advantage. Despite their momentum, Team Liquid PH managed to stabilize by focusing on objective control, preventing the deficit from growing further. Still, Aurora maintained map dominance and chipped away at TLPH’s turrets. The turning point came at the 14-minute mark when RORA’s Gold Laner, Domengkite, secured a Maniac during a crucial wipeout, allowing Aurora to close out the game decisively.
Game 2
Game 2 was a different story as Team Liquid PH fought back with fire. They flipped the script with a highly aggressive approach, invading RORA’s jungle to steal resources and wrestle control of the map. Aurora struggled to recover, unable to secure even a single kill. With relentless pressure and clinical execution, TLPH dominated the game, tying the series at 1-1.
Game 3
The final round turned into a nail-biting decider. Aurora Gaming, led by Yue’s stellar Novaria performance, controlled the early to mid-game, consistently securing every objective. TLPH, however, managed to extend the game and found hope in a dramatic Lord steal that opened up Aurora’s bot lane defenses. But in a crucial late-game clash, TLPH overextended in pursuit of victory, losing momentum. Aurora capitalized briefly, yet Team Liquid PH held their ground and turned the tables, closing out the match with a 2-1 series win.
