Both teams came into the second series of MPL PH Season 15 Week 7 Day 2 with different missions: Aurora Gaming (RORA) fighting for an upper bracket slot, and Smart Omega (OMG) desperate to rack up points for a last-minute playoff push. In the end, RORA proved too much to handle, sweeping OMG 2-0.
Game 1
Both teams opened the match cautiously, with only a few skirmishes early on. Smart Omega kept pace with Aurora Gaming’s momentum, but as the late game rolled around, RORA took over. By the 12-minute mark, RORA led the kill count 7-3 and secured a critical Lord. With the advantage on their side, RORA wasted no time pushing through and closing out Game 1.
Game 2
Smart Omega started strong in Game 2, grabbing three kills just three minutes in. They were aggressive around objectives, denying RORA’s first Turtle attempt and pulling ahead with a 2.5k gold lead by the 9-minute mark. However, RORA’s late-game prowess, spearheaded by Renejay’s precise Chou kicks, turned the tide. With critical picks and sustained pressure, RORA secured a Lord and stormed the base to complete the clean sweep.
Aurora Gaming inches closer to locking in an upper bracket playoff spot, while Smart Omega’s playoff hopes take another heavy blow.
