MPL PH: Twisted Minds Edge Out AP Bren in a Hard-Fought Series

The first series of MPL PH Season 16 Week 1 Day 3 brought an exciting clash between AP Bren (APBR) and Twisted Minds (TWIS). Both teams were eager to establish early momentum in the season, and the series delivered a full three-game showdown filled with big plays and standout performances. In the end, it was TWIS who came out on top, securing a 2-1 victory and continuing their strong run from Day 2.

Game 1:
TWIS carried over their momentum from their previous win against Team Falcons PH, applying steady pressure against APBR. The early game was relatively quiet, but once the late game hit, TWIS took full control. MP the King’s Hayabusa dominated the jungle, forcing APBR into choke points and denying them access to critical objectives. With no answers left on the map, APBR eventually crumbled, giving TWIS the opening game win.

Game 2:
Unwilling to go down without a fight, APBR bounced back in the second game with relentless aggression. Constant teamfights and calculated rotations locked TWIS out of pickoffs and stripped them of map control. Shizuo shined with a stellar Harith performance, finishing with a flawless 11/0/6 KDA. With kill pressure and objectives firmly in their hands, APBR stormed to victory and forced a deciding Game 3.

Game 3:
With the series on the line, TWIS regrouped and came in with a clear game plan—stick together and deny APBR space to set up plays. The strategy paid off, as they built a massive lead by the 10-minute mark. Sionnn led the charge with a dominant Kagura performance, posting a 7/0/7 KDA that proved too much for APBR to handle. The gold and map gap widened so drastically that APBR had no way to recover, and TWIS sealed the series with a commanding 19-3 win in the final game.

Twisted Minds’ 2-1 victory reinforces their reputation as one of the most dangerous squads early in the season, while AP Bren, despite flashes of brilliance, will need to refine their consistency if they want to rise to the top.
