The playoffs of MPL PH Season 15 kicked off with a high-stakes showdown between the reigning M6 World Champions, ONIC PH, and the promising newcomers, Twisted Minds PH (TWIS). What unfolded was a thrilling five-game series that tested both teams’ limits.
Game 1
Early on, Twisted Minds looked poised to challenge the kings. Even with ONIC trying to starve MP The King’s Ling by stealing key jungle buffs, TWIS held their ground. But as the game dragged on, the gap between the two teams widened. ONIC eventually pulled away with superior map control and execution, closing the opening match in their favor.
Game 2
TWIS came in more determined in Game 2, keeping up the pressure with another strong early game. Their Lord fights were calculated, especially as they focused on shutting down ONIC’s Jungler, K1ngKong. But ONIC’s SuperFrince stepped up with clutch Selena arrow hits, setting up crucial pick-offs. Despite TWIS’s best efforts, ONIC regained control and secured another win, moving to match point.
Game 3
Facing elimination, TWIS switched gears by picking Escalera’s comfort hero, Guinevere, in the Roamer role. This change gave them a huge boost in tempo. They successfully shut down K1ngKong’s Hayabusa by limiting his mobility and punished ONIC for every overextension. With their aggressive map plays and ambush setups, TWIS claimed their first win of the series.
Game 4
Riding on their momentum, TWIS carried their aggressive playstyle into Game 4. Hungry to complete the reverse sweep, they maintained map pressure and punished ONIC’s risky decisions. Another win from TWIS pushed the series into a winner-takes-all Game 5.
Game 5
But just when TWIS looked like they had ONIC on the ropes, the final game was a complete turnaround. ONIC PH came in blazing, dominating the early game with near-flawless execution. In just around 10 minutes, they shut down TWIS’s comeback hopes and sealed the series.
ONIC PH advances in the playoffs, eliminating Twisted Minds PH in a 3-2 nail-biter.
